Mtabbal is one of the hundreds of Levantine appetizers (mezze). The origin of the word Mutabbal is the Arabic verb “tabbala”, which means literally “to add additional flavors and spices”.
People of the Levant learned to use the seasonal fruits/vegetables and make the best out of it. And when it comes to beetroots, there’s no better way to enjoy it like this tasty healthy dip.
The beauty Beet. The deep red vegetable found on farmer’s market and grocery stores shelves June through November-ish.
The beets color impart on a dish is truly spectacular and sure to brighten up your day.
Not only is this dip delicious and versatile, it also has the most beautiful and vibrant color. Quick and easy to make, besides it looks stunning.
Ingredients:
– 2 big Beetroots
– salt
– 1 minced garlic clove
– 4 Tbsp yogurt
– 2 Tbsp pomegranate molasses
– 2 Tbsp lemon juice
– 4 Tbsp Tahini paste
– parsley
– 5 Tbsp Olive oil
– pine nuts
Directions:
1. Wash the beetroots, place them in a pot and cover with water.
2. Cover the lid, let it simmer, till it becomes tender – that usually takes around an hour.
3. When it cooked, let it cool. Once it cools down, peel and slice in half.
4. Place the beetroots into a food processor, blend until smooth.
5. Add the salt, garlic clove, yogurt, pomegranate molasses, lemon juice, and the tahini paste.
(Taste as you go! You can add more or less according to your desired taste)
6. Drizzle the olive oil on top, add the parsley and the nuts for garnish.

Rote Bete Hummus

Menschen der levante gelernt, die saisonalen Früchte/Gemüse zu verwenden, und das Beste daraus zu machen. Und wenn es um Rote Bete geht, dann gibt es keinen besseren Art, es zu genießen, wie dieses leckere gesunde Dip.
Die Schönheit Bete. Das tief rote Gemüse, das auf Bauernmarket und Lebensmittelgeschäftsregalen von Juni bis November gefunden wurde.
Die Farbe vermittelt auf einen Teller ist wirklich atemberaubend, und sicher zu erhellen euren Tag.
Die perfekte Veggie-Packer, Vollfaser-Snack, die deine süße Zahn in einer großartigen Weise befriedigen können.
Nicht nur ist dieses Dip lecker und vielseitig, es hat auch die schönste und lebendige Farbe. Schnell und einfach zu machen außerdem sieht es sehr toll aus.
Zutaten:
– 2 große Rote Bete
– Salz
– 1 gehackte Knoblauchzehe
– 4 EL Natur Joghurt
– 2 EL Granatapfel melasses
– 2 EL Zitronensaft
– 4 EL Tahini (sesampaste)
– Petersilien
– 5 EL Olivenöl
– Pinienkerne
Zubereitung:
1. Die Rote Bete waschen, und im Wasser liegen lassen.
2. Mit geschlossenem Deckel köcheln laseen, bis sie weich sind – das dauert in der Regel etwa eine Stunde.
3. Nachdem sie aufgekocht ist, sie abkühlen lassen. Sobald sie abgekühlt ist, dann schälen und in Würfel schneiden.
4. Die Rote Bete in den Zerkleinerer legen, und bis glatt mischen.
5. Salz, Knoblauchzehe, Joghurt, Granatapfel melasses, Zitronensaft, und Tahini paste hinzufügen. ( mehr oder weniger, nach deinem gewünschten Geschmack)
6. Olivenöl hinzufügen, und mit Petersilien und Pinienkerne garnieren.
Genießen!

I hated them as a kid too, but with this recipe, you barely taste them, the Hummus itself is perfection.. I highly recommend this one 🙂
