I was one of those kids who wouldn’t even try to taste spinach! But you know, Popeye episodes were good enough to convince me not only to try that green dish, but also to enjoy it 😉
This Spinach recipe for us, is a very tasty simple vegan dish, which provides your body with protein, fiber, vitamins A, C, & E. It’s even low in fat and in cholesterol! Besides, it can be served in less than half an hour! Definitely, will be added to the category “30 minutes meal”. And even the next day, you can easily heat it up briefly and you are set for a great pleasant food to share with family and friends. Special dish for vegetarians, and one of our favorite eats. It makes a perfect meal. 🙂
Use this recipe as a template for other delicious combinations. For example, in mine I have added pomegranate and walnuts to give that tasty nutty hearty flavor.
This spinach recipe is a perfect dish for a vegetarian lunch, dinner, or even a breakfast.
Ingredients:
Directions:
1. Wash the spinach, remove the stems (but not from truly tender, small leaves with equally tender, thin stems) because Spinach typically grows in sandy soil, so you need to wash it carefully.
*For notoriously sandy spinach, swish in a basin of cold water, let sit for a minute, and then lift into a colander to drain. Dump the water and repeat to get rid of the grit.
2. Fry the onion over medium heat until golden.
3. Season it with salt and pepper.
4. Add the spinach.
5. Place the lid, and let it simmer at low heat for about half an hour.
6. When cooked – add the coriander and the minced garlic cloves, and cook it for just another 5 minutes.

Popeye hatte bestimmt recht.
Viel Spaß beim Nachmachen!
Eure Lana ❤

I ready the directions and that how exactly we need to wash spinach to enjoy it fully without it leaving grit in our mouth. I am not sure if you have heard of Palak Paneer( indian dish) which is pureed spinach in indian spices with chunks of cottage cheese. It tastes like heaven with Tandoori Roti ( flatbread made in Kiln).
Loved to read the blog.
